The City Project

For those of you who don't already know me, my name is Julianne Welch. I am a rising Junior at Clemson University. This summer I have a wonderful opportunity to go to new places, meet new people, and most importantly, to get to know my Father better. I will be participating in The City Project with The Summit Church in Raleigh, NC. We will be traveling to a church plant in New York City and helping with various ministries in Queens for a week. After that, we will be in Raleigh for a month. During this time, I will live with other City Project Students and we will be taking seminary classes in the mornings. In the afternoons, I will be interning with a non-profit called World Relief. You can find out more about this organization here: http://worldrelief.org/. Finally, in July, I will be flying to Kenya. In Kenya we will be partnering with Uhuru Child.
God has been showing me a lot recently about what it looks like to truly follow Him. To surrender everything and trust Him and only Him. My prayer for this summer is Philippians 3:8-10, "What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law,but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,"
I would love to share with you this summer through my blog as we see God move and as I learn more and more about Him. In order to participate in this missions opportunity, I have had to raise support to pay for traveling and living expenses. Because these checks are made out to the City Project, your gift is tax deductible. If you feel led to donate to help me as I begin the summer, you can do so online at http://tiny.cc/CityProject. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated but if you are unable to give, I am counting on your prayer support. Not just for me but for all the other students that will be participating this summer and for all of the people we will be coming in contact with in each city. Thank you so much to all of the people who are already supporting me! I cannot thank you enough. God has already blown my mind with His provisions and I can't wait to see Him move throughout the summer.

Much love,

Julianne
